3,500 Pounds of Food for CAC
Members of the Sandy Springs, GA based St. Jude the Apostle Council 16513 collected over $4400 and 3500 lbs of food and sundry items to benefit client families of the local Community Assistance Center (CAC) Food Bank. The Food for Families collection, conducted over the weekend of April 14 – 15, was part of the broader community CAC Food ‘n Fun annual drive that helps provide food for families in need during the summer months when children no longer receive subsidized school meals. In its first time running the Food for Families Drive, Council 16513 exceeded its original goals of collecting $1500 and 3000 lbs of food. Thirty-four Knights, family members, and friends contributed over 100 work-hours of service to the effort. The Council collaborated with other Saint Jude the Apostle Church ministry and community groups such as SVdP, the Young Adults ministry, St. Stephens Ministry, and members of the Georgia Tech college Council 14496.
